America’s Billiard League is launching a completely different kind of competition: the ABL Ghost Event, a 15-week solo Ghost 8-ball challenge with a $50,000 first prize.

There is no opposing team and no head-to-head schedule to coordinate. Each week, it is one player, one approved table, four racks, and one official scoring attempt. Your score comes down to your shot-making, position play, cue-ball control, and ability to hold your nerve when every ball matters.

The Ghost Event is built to fit around a player’s schedule. You may complete your weekly session on any day and at any time during that event week—even at home—as long as the table meets the official requirements.

Approved equipment includes standard bar tables, 4 × 8-foot home tables, and 4½ × 9-foot tournament tables. Pockets may be no larger than 5 inches, and jump cues are permitted.

Each weekly session consists of four racks of Ghost 8-ball with a one-hour time limit. Once recording begins, that session becomes your only scoring attempt for the week.

Players may use one makeup match during the event, but makeup matches are not permitted during Weeks 13, 14, or 15.

The Pressure Rises as the Event Unfolds

This is not a flat scoring race. Point values increase as the competition moves toward its final week, making late-event execution especially important.

  • Weeks 1–6: Solids and stripes are worth 1 point, the 8-ball is worth 3, and the bonus is worth 2.
  • Weeks 7–12: Solids and stripes are worth 2 points, the 8-ball is worth 6, and the bonus is worth 4.
  • Weeks 13–14: Solids and stripes are worth 5 points, the 8-ball is worth 15, and the bonus is worth 8.
  • Week 15: Solids and stripes are worth 10 points, the 8-ball is worth 30, and the bonus is worth 15.

A legal 8-ball on the break earns both the 8-ball points and the bonus. Balls made with a foul do not count, and balls spotted after the break must be legally pocketed before they can add to the score.

By Week 15, every legally pocketed solid or stripe is worth 10 points. The 8-ball is worth 30. One rack can change everything.

Scores Are Entered During Play

There are no paper score sheets. Players enter each rack’s score in the ABL App during play.

Every official session must also be recorded with the entire table visible. Before beginning, players must identify themselves on camera, show a valid ID, and use the official ABL 8-ball rack pattern. Games and shots are timestamped and reviewed by ABL staff.

Top scores will be posted on ABLPlayers.com and updated weekly, giving players a way to follow the race as the event develops.

Who Can Enter?

The Ghost Event is open to eligible players rated 660 Fargo and under.

ABL will determine eligibility for players without an established Fargo rating and may disqualify a player whose rating information was inaccurate at signup.

Standard event dues are $10 per week for 15 weeks, or $150 before the early-signup offer.

Sign up by September 20, 2026, and your first week’s dues are free. The separate $10 sign-up fee is still required to hold your place.

The final registration deadline is October 15, 2026. No late entries will be accepted.
